Josef Studený has published this title online regardless of the wish of Květoslav Minařík (further KM), that his autobiography should be published and read as the last book or not at all. He repeatedly expressed his wish publicly and J. Studený knew this and consciously broke this wish. He has published the pre-final, samizdat1 version of the original and, moreover, he has done this secretly, without the knowledge of PhDr. Zora Šubrtová and doc. MUDr. Antonín Bajer.
The text does not adhere to the manuscript: there are fabricated footnotes about names, deliberate addition of names, inaccuracies the in author’s personal data, unauthorised use of copyright, unauthorised use of the name Canopus, etc.
This unauthorised publication has been distributed up to the present day.
(Recently, this book was translated to English and German without autorisation and published online on the web-sites www.mahayana.cz and www.kagyupa.com.)
Because it was necessary to set things to rights, Canopus prepared a publication based on the final version prepared by author to be published. The book was further complemented by studies by doc. MUDr. Antonín Bajer on the causes of ill-health of KM and Mrs. Krista Ledrová, and by a set of photographs. On the rear of the book cover, there is a warning with a kind request, in the name of KM, that a reader should not read this book as the first book of the author, but only after they have read another book of KM and were positively impressed by it. This first publication adhering to the final version of the author’s original was published in Czech as:
Kéčara, Autobiografie mystika (Kechara, Autobiography of a mystic). Květoslav Minařík. Canopus, Prague 1997, format A5.
