The Word of the Buddha
The Word of the Buddha is the first ever systematic discourse of the Buddha’s teaching in a European language, which uses Buddha’s own words. The selected texts are arranged in a way to make an integrated whole, which offers a reliable guidance through the entire system of Buddhism. The reader is thus saved from the struggle to work through a very large body of literature sources. Buddha’s clear and penetrating way of teaching, which is visible in these texts, will serve well to an attentive and thinking reader as a first introduction into the Buddha’s teaching.
The translation that we present, was newly made and during the translation, the original sources in the Pali language were taken into account and the translated text was checked by several foremost Czech experts in this field.
Květoslav Minařík has considered this „systematic overview of the Buddha’s teaching“ to be an immensely useful and living basic text for everyone who wants to walk the path towards their own perfection by a path other than religious faith. His comments are not only the development of thoughts, which are contained in the original Buddhist text, but they stem from his own experiences. He was a practitioner, who has explored virtually all paths leading upwards and who has known and fully realised also the one which is based on the Word of Buddha.
